Born in 1936, Indu Jain is the chairman and CEO of Benett Coleman & Co. Ltd, the group that owns one of India’s largest selling newspapers - The Times of India and many others. She is known for her strong spiritual and humanitarian beliefs. This has led her to form The Times Foundation, that is largely involved in Community Services, Research Foundation, and Times Relief Funds- for disaster-affected areas. She was awarded Padma Bhushan by the Indian government in 2016.

Vandana Luthra

The infamous beauty and wellness brand, VLCC, that now has a strong presence not only in India but 10 other countries, was started by a homemaker named Vandana Luthra in 1989. Vandana, understanding that her products and idea of business were one of kind and new to India, started off when the first of her two daughters were only 3 years old. The brand now has a team of 6000 professionals working with her. Fortune India called her as the 33rd most powerful woman in the business world and was also awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2013. She is a standing example of how every homemaker in India has the power of living their dream.

Richa Kar

Richa Kar is the founder of the Indian lingerie e-retailer Zivame. She understood the general discomfort around the subject, amongst the buyers and retailers, and created the platform so that women could browse through various lingerie options with ease and without embarrassment. The small operation grew into a team of more than 200 in three years and has now become India’s largest online lingerie store. Richa Kar stands strong as an example of a woman who managed to not only make profits but also educate women across the country about intimate wear through her startup.

Indra Nooyi

Indra Nooyi is one of the most powerful Indian women in the business world. Ranked 13 in Forbes list of World’s 100 most powerful women in 2014, she was also the CEO and president of PepsiCo. Currently, she is serving as Board of Director of Amazon, the largest eCommerce business in the world by net revenue and is also the first independent female director on International Cricket Council.

Upasana Taku

Upasana Taku is the co-founder of MobiKwik, one of the biggest digital wallets in India. She started the business with her husband in 2009 and since then, the platform has expanded from being a mobile wallet facility to also giving small loans to consumers.
